The fastest selling game on PS3 is... The Last of Us!
That's right. The Last of Us has shipped an amazing 3,400,000 copies! They are bucking the trend to the big AAA titles which all want to release in Q4 (Christmas period.)
It is also a big reason why games should be released right up to the end of a console's lifecycle.
Sony has confirmed that it has shipped 3.4m copies across both Blu-ray and digital. Of course Sony and Naughty Dog are very happy for making it into the record books with this brilliant game. Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida stated "These sales figures are a testament to the blockbuster qualtiy of The Last of Us."
“The teams at Naughty Dog are true visionaries and their storytelling capabilities are second to none, this title is an undisputed demonstration of that. SCE continues to be committed to delivering unique gameplay experiences that redefine the interactive entertainment industry and The Last of Us is a perfect example.”
So have you bought The Last of Us? Have you already completed it as you couldn't put it down?
Do you think they will make a sequal to it for PS4?
See you next time

World of Warcraft to start offering microtransactions?
World of Warcraft which if you didnt know is a subscription based game where you pay each month to play it. However they now want to start offering microtransactions in a few countries.
A Blizzard Rep said that premium in-game items are being considered for World of Warcraft.
Community representative Jonathan Brown wrote on the possibility via Battle.net forums – specifically noting that only certain regions are being considered for the additions at this time.
“We are currently exploring the possibility of
adding a way for players in certain regions to make purchases directly
within the game. As part of this process, elements related to this will
be appearing on the PTR. We’ll provide additional updates on our plans
as development progresses.”
According to Polygon they noticed a experience-boosting spell was found on one of the
games public test servers, which caused the topic to bubble up in the
first place.
World of Warcraft (The MMO King) has been on a slippery slope in the past couple of years. Most recently it has lost a massive 1.3million subscribers during the first quarter of this year!
I personally have played WoW and think it is a very good game but I soon got bored when i hit the level cap.
Have you played WoW? Would you pay for in-game items? Let me know :)
See you next time :)

Club Nintendo Japan website has been hacked!
This is yet another big corporation that has been affected by hackers. Nintendo confirmed a breach of security on the Japanese version of Club Nintendo website.
Kotaku reports that Nintendo noticed a unusually high number of errors occuring on the site on July the 2nd. They then launched an investigation into what had happened.
They discovered that 23,000 unauthorised log-ins were successfully made from 15m attempts between 9th of June and 4th of July.
Nintendo has said that it is possible that “members' full names, home addresses, phone numbers, and mail addresses were compromised.” The site does not contain any credit card information so that is one less of a worry for the users.
All members passwords have now been reset.
So why do you think there are so many more hackers around now than say 10 years ago? Do you think its because of the economic climate?
See you next time.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD to have a brand new ending
It has been reported that the remake of Final Fantasy X and X-2 will have a brand new 30 min ending cut scene. It will also have newly recorded voice acting and scribed by the games scenario writer Kazushige Nojima.
Siliconera reports on Japanese publication Shounen Jump's reveal of the new 30-minute ending. One that will take place at what everyone has been left to presume will be the conclusion of FFX-2 – though it wasn’t explicitly stated beyond that it will be shown over the credits.
Square Enix has thus far declined the opportunity to confirm the report.
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD is set to release this fall on PS3 and Vita. The games will be sold together for PS3 but vita lovers will have to purchase the games separately.
Personally I love Final Fantasy X. I think it was the last of the great as you say. It just seemed that they got everything right when making the game. From the music to the story line it was a very enjoyable experience. I am looking forward to playing the HD remake this Christmas.
Are you excited for the HD remake or do you think remakes shouldn't be made?
See you next time :)

GTA V will require 8GB of space just to play!
The latest in the Grand Theft Auto series will require 8GB of hard disc just to be able to play it! It will be on 2 discs for Xbox 360 and 1 Blu-Ray disc for PS3.
The details were revealed via a Q&A on Rockstar's official website, in which the publisher confirmed the mandatory install applies to both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
The website reads: "Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems."
The PS3 version will come on one Blu-ray disc that installs content when they first insert the disc and allows players to begin the game immediately afterwards.
The Xbox 360 SKU will use one disc for a one-time install, while the second disc will be used to play the game. Users will not be required to switch discs after the content has been installed.
This news means that anyone with a 4GB Xbox 360 will need to upgrade their console or add a bigger external hard drive.
But this shouldn't come as a shock to anyone who has played any of the GTA series. Most of them used the maximum processing power possible for the machines they were on and GTA V is no exception. It is supposed to be the biggest GTA ever and have more variety.
Grand Theft Auto V will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 17th.
Do you mind the mandatory install for a game that will blow the competition out of the water? Or do you think it shouldn't have to install and just run from the disc?
See you next time

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Beta hits 1mil applications!
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn hits the big milestone mark for there 2nd attempt at making the game. Lets face it, the first attempt was absolutely horrible to play and never included the same spark you get from playing other FF games.
Being a big fan of the FF series I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the finished article. I just hope that when they release it on the 27th of August that the game lives up to my expectations.
Square Enix announced the milestone following the launch of its 3rd and final weekend of The Beta stage. From the forums and news it looks as if finally Square Enix has listened to the public and is working hard to make sure that this relaunch doesn't have the same flop technique.
Also with the relaunch of the game comes a new platform you can play FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. The PS3 version will be exactly the same as the PC version and they will work together in integrated cross play. It will also come out at a later date for PS4.
So do you think this game will rival the best in MMORPG's? Or do you think that it is doomed to fail from the start?
Thanks guys and girls

Xbox One and PS4 playable at GameStop Expo!
That's right the new consoles recently announced at E3 will be playable at GameStop Expo PowerUp Rewards! This expo will be held in America on the 28th of August and will be open to all GameStop members.
It will be the first time that the consumers will actually be able to play on the new consoles. 3 Months before they are due to go on sale around the world.
GameStop is encouraging its member to fork out $90 for VIP tickets that entitle them to “exclusive Q&A sessions in which they can pose questions about the consoles to panellists from Microsoft and Sony”. Also included is early show-floor access, a VIP longue, the chance to enter tournaments and a goodie bag – which amongst other things will have a copy of Madden 25 for Xbox 360.
Regular entry costs $35. Student discounts are also available. Customers are able to pay for tickets using their GameStop credit should they so choose.
So are you planning on going? Would you pay the extra to get the highly anticipated Q&A sessions on Xbox One and PS4?
Once having a hands on experience do you think you would change your mind on which console you would get for launch?
Personally I am a Sony man so it has to be PS4 for me.
See you next time.
